23rd November. By a not at all coincidence today is not only the 48th Birthday of a very special show called Doctor Who but it is also the third birthday of The Terrible Zodin.

Congratulations to both! Thank you for being along for the ride, without your support and enthusiasm we wouldn't have chalked up 12 issues, with TTZ13 on the way in the next few weeks.

Seeking Submissions for TTZ13

We're now actively seeking submissions for issue 13 of The Terrible Zodin.

The theme is Season 6 (The most recent Matt Smith one that is rather than Quarks, Krotons and Space Pirates!) but of course we accept material on any aspect of Who in any era or medium.

No reviews of Season 6 stories please as we have that all sorted.

But yes please do get in touch if you wanna be part of the zine with your article ideas, artwork, poems, fiction, in-depth analysis or general silliness!

The deadline for submissions is Sunday 4th December 2011.

With our editor Leslie's PHD commitements 2012 will be Zodin-lite so if you've ever wanted to be part of the zine but have been a bit shy up till now, then now's your chance!

The Terrible Zodin # 12 (Fall 2011)

With apologies (again!) for the delay.

The Terrible Zodin # 12 is now available for free download for your delight and edification.

This issue we take a look at Doctor Who in the 1970s and pay tribute to Nicholas Courtney and Elisabeth Sladen. We've Axons and Mandrels galore and the Master pops up too (of course!)

Also this issue we visit the exhibition at the Cartoon Museum, take a look at the Graceless spin-off series and compare A Christmas Carol to Inception. Vincent and the Doctor gets the No! Not the Mind Probe! treatment and we follow up on our recommendations of New Adventure novels.

All this plus the usual fun and games and a gorgeous front cover by Marc D. Lewis. It's thanks to our willing band of writers and contributors that there's an issue to read at all so please let us know what you think.

TTZ Visits Doctor Who Comic Exhibition @ The Cartoon Museum, London

From the makers of The Terrible Zodin comes HAI-ku! - The Doctor Who Poetry Project.

THE MISSION: To write a haiku about each TV story of Doctor Who. To fans each haiku will be an obvious reference, even if just by a familiar image. To non-fans, perhaps they will be taken by surprise at the wealth of language that can be used to describe Doctor Who.

Whilst the primary focus will be haiku we do accept all forms of poetry. Send us your poems and we will publish them.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing this project develop.

Due to numerous and various reasons (not all of them appropriate for a public forum) the next issue of The Terrible Zodin is going to be slightly delayed.

We're working towards having it out by not later that 17th July 2011.

In the meantime work has also started on TTZ12 and we are accepting submissions. The theme is Doctor Who in the 70s and we will also be paying tribute to Nicholas Courtney and Elisabeth Sladen.

Timewyrm: Genesys was first published on 20th June 1991.

Happy Anniversary New Adventures! For many of us they kept the flame of Doctor Who alive during the so called Wilderness Years. There was plenty of fun and creativity in that wilderness as Paul Cornell himself expounds on in his interview with us (See TTZ7 & 8).

For me I became a fan in 1988 and thus just as I got in to the show it was cancelled. The New Adventures kept me interested and I had the joy of exploring both the back catalogue of Doctors prior to mine as well as having new printed adventures for Seven. What more could I ask for?

We celebrated the New Adventures back in issue 8 of The Terrible Zodin with Tony Gallichan expounded on the background of the creativy explosion from the vantage point of his seat in the Fitzroy Tavern, Barnaby Edwards gives a heartfelt overview of the series and several contributors reviewed their favourite novel for us (see the list of contents below)

The Ribos Operation Parts 2 - 4

We've not forgotten our Key to Time quest dear readers and indeed have now watched up to the end of The Pirate Planet, but as I'm sure you know how it is; real life gets in the way from working late at the office or getting delayed home when the transport system grounds to a halt.

But enough of that. The Ribos Operation was a pretty good story overall. My first introduction to this story was Ian Marter's novelisation which I've never finished because frankly it's extremely dull and turgid. Thankfully it's screen counterpart was nothing of the sort and full of a breezy energy. All the guest stars are really giving it their all and Robert Holmes is the master of painting larger than life characters. The warmth with which Iain Cuthbertson plays Garron makes him a loveable rogue who deserved to come back and is definitely a precursor to Glitz (and a superior one at that, Tony Selby made Glitz too cuddly when the character was supposed to be far more morally ambigous).

It's Nigel Plaskitt however who really shines. Overshadowed a bit in the first episode he comes his own in the rest of the story and contrast the comedic way in which he plays a Riban bumpkin with the scringe stone to the compassion he shows to Binro the Heratic when on the run from the authorities. Whilst the introduction of Binro could seem like padding, especially as it doesn't really impact on the plot overall, it's masterly in fleshing out a convincing history of Ribos in a way that other info dumping stories can only envy. No "It was on the planet Ribos when my old enemy the Black Guardian...." nonsense here.

I take back my criticism of the Shrivenzale from the previous entry. In the scenes in the catacombs the suitably dark atmosphere means they're not so obviously plastic and rubbish and they do seem like quite the formidable critter and could probably hold their own against a Magma Beast.

I won't spoil the ending for those who've not seen this story yet but if you thought the Seventh or Tenth Doctors were the ones to be scared of, think again.

The Ribos Operation Part 1

I liked it for the most part.

I still think the concept of the Guardians of Time is pretty naff. What do they actually do eh? If the White Guardian is so powerful he can pluck the TARDIS out of the vortex, why can't the Black Guardian? Kudos however to Tom Baker's restrained performance in those scenes as it highlights just how much of a powerful being the White Guardian is supposed to be when given this due deference. There is though that wonderfully understated lin where the Doctor wonders about the conseqences of refusing to gon the quest. "Nothing."

"Nothing?!"

"Nothing. Ever."

Romana makes an interesting addition to the TARDIS crew and there is a lot of comic potential for her relationship with the Doctor. This is only my second viewing of this story (indeed of this season) and so I am more used to the Lalla Ward incarnation. Mary Tamm does a good job of making Romana likeable inspite of the antagonism suggested by the script.

Good performances from all of the supporting cast but particularly Iain Cuthbertson as Garron and Paul Seed as the Graff Vynda-K.

I know we shouldn't try to be too harsh about the standards of special effects but the Shrivenzale.... oh dear. Can there be a worse Doctor Who monster? Ok yes I know the Taran Wood Beast will rear its ugly head later this season!

A fun little opening episode and look forward to the rest of the story.

The Key to Time

Well so what did you all think of the latest half season of Doctor Who?! Were you at the edge of your seat, punching the air with excitment or were you muttering darkly in to your cup of tea "Worst. Season. Ever."?

Whichever it was we've now a summer ahead of us until the completely bonkers sounding Lets Kill Hitler! so we're going to fill the gap by watching The Key to Time series.

For those uninitiated The Key to Time was season 16 of the original series, first broadcast in 1978 and comprising six stories (26 episodes in total). Starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Mary Tamm as his companion Romana and of course the voice of John Leeson as everyone's favourite K9, that season saw the Doctor travelling all over the galaxy on a quest for the legendary Key to Time which would restore the natural balance of the universe which was threatening to slide in to chaos.

Whether you're a new series fan who has never dipped in to the classic series before or an old pro by all means feel free to join us. We're going to watch an episode a weeknight starting tonight with The Ribos Operation part 1 (reviewed the following day).

And of course in July we should be getting a new series of Torchwood so between the two of them that should be our summer sorted until the show returns in the autumn.

Give Us Your Children

TTZ contributor Aya Vandenbussche has started a new TV & Film blog over at Notorious Vandenbussche. To kick start her off she has reprinted "Give Us Your Children", an article that first appeared in The Terrible Zodin #8 and examined the Holocaust imagery as used in RTD's writing, predominantly in Torchwood: Children of Earth but in other stories too such as Planet of the Ood and Turn Left.

Highly recommended.

TTZ would like to apologise to readers who're part of the zines group on Facebook if they recieved a gazzilion emails yesterday. Unfortunately Facebook in their infinate wisdom offered us the choice of upgrading the group or losing it, the result however meant that every member of the group thus recieved an email notification every single time someone so much as sneezed in the vacinity of the group.

We hope we've not lost your good will and would like to advise that if you don't want email updates when the group is updated, someone writes on our wall or whatever you can go to your account settings and then unclick that option under your group settings.

We are delighted to bring you the first part of our exclusive interview with script writer Terrance Dicks who talks about his long association with the show and finally reveals the true secret of just who The Terrible Zodin is! The Terrible Zodin Doctor Who Meet Up - 9th April 2011

Due to the various tube engineering works going on the weekend of the 9th April 2011 we've relocated our Doctor Who Meet Up to The Mayflower in Rotherhithe, London, SE16 4NF.

The nearest station is Rotherhithe on London Overground (formerly the East London Line). Turn left out the station and left again down to the end of Railway Avenue. Once you hit the river, the Mayflower is just on your left and it's two minutes walk from the station.

Best bet is to get on to the Jubilee Line and change at Canada Water or on the Victoria Line and change at Highbury & Islington.

Forecast for the weekend is sunny and warm (well as warm as early April can get). There's a jetty out on the the river with plenty of tables and there's room inside in case the weather takes a turn for the worse.

We thought what with TTZ being a transatlantic zine The Mayflower was somewhate appropriate.

The Terrible Zodin Doctor Who Meet Up

To celebrate two years and 10 issues of The Terrible Zodin, we will be holding a Doctor Who meet up on Saturday 9th April 2011 in London, exact venue tbc.

We'd love for our contributors and readers to be there and hope it will be great fun.

Follow the event invitation on Facebook for updates, though we will of course update here as well.

Submissions sought for Issues 10 & 11

The team at TTZ are "double banking" (Get us!) and so production is underway on both issues 10 and 11 of The Terrible Zodin, the first due for publication in April, the second likely in July.

Issue 10 is our The War Games special. ~~We're currently looking for anyone interested in writing a retrospective of Philip Madoc's various roles in Doctor Who~~ as well as any articles on anything related to The War Games. Please contact us with your ideas so we can be sure they don't clash with anything already commissioned.

We're also actively seeking artwork but would note in keeping with the Troughton theme, we're experimenting with TTZ10 being in monochrome.

For Back2theWhoture we'll be watching The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang and The Time Meddler and your comments on this stories are welcomed.

The deadline for TTZ10 is 13th March 2011.

Issue 11 is our Comic Strips special. We're interested in articles focusing on any of the Doctors adventures in this medium from TV Action to Countdown to DWM to DWA to IDW and webcomics and beyond!

We'll be running our popular The Mighty 200 series so actively welcome your 200 words recommendations of your favourite comic strip story. See TTZ4 or TTZ6 for guidance as you can see how this series has tackled classic Who and the adventures of the 8th Doctor

We'd also quite like to run some original one shot comic strips in TTZ11, if this is something you're interested in get in touch.

For Back2theWhoture we'll be watching The Time Warrior and The Crusades.

We've not lined up a story for No! Not the Mind Probe! in this issue so if you'd like to consign your worst story to be deleted from history forever let us know and we'll set it up! (See TTZ9 if you're not already familiar with N!NTMP!)

As ever the themes for each issue are guidelines only and to help stimulate and encourage the creative juices, not act as a straight jacket. If you'd rather write an article on why Dodo is the best companion ever, wax lyrical about the Tetraps or construct a thesis on the 10th Doctor's sexy specs be our guest!

Last but by no means least there has been some discussions on whether or not we do a spin-off sister zine which is fanfic only. We'll only consider this is it seems there's an audience for it so let us know if you like the idea.

Incidentally a Merry Christmas to all of you at home!

And now that's out of the way we can blow our own trumpet and shout that not only do you have a brand new issue of The Terrible Zodin to read but Issue 9 is our 2 year anniversary.

Thank you to all the writers and artists who have contributed to the zine over the years and thank you of course to you dear reader for supporting the zine. We hope you've enjoyed the ride.

We'll be on hiatus for a while (Don't worry no Season 23 hysterics, we're just abroad for the Holidays!) but that just gives you plenty of time to read TTZ9! Style Sheet and Guidelines

Okay, in light of the inaccessibility of the PDF and generally to make it easier for you (and us!) I'm reposting these in html format so they can be referred to easily.

What’s a style sheet? Well, for complex publications (like Doctor Who Magazine, for example, or Scribendi) it’s a very long list of rules and guidelines to make the editors’ lives easier. It’s basically where all the style rules are kept so that the editors don’t go crazy trying to figure out whether their publication uses “that” or “which” and reminding people of common grammar mistakes like split infinitives and possessives (it’s = it is, its=belonging to something). For TTZ we’re going to keep it simple because my contributors aren’t getting paid so I don’t want to make their lives harder. Neither, however, do I want to spend valuable editing time changing everything that should be bolded from quotes. Here are just some useful (I hope) guidelines for writing an article in our house style.

1. Titles of books, plays, musical albums, magazines, and the titles of films and TV shows are bolded.
Ex: Vampire Science
The Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150 AD
Doctor Who
The Sarah Jane Adventures
Moby-Dick
The correct way to cite this magazine is TTZ (+ issue number) eg TTZ3 or The Terrible Zodin.

2. Episodes of a TV show are bolded within quote marks/inverted commas.
Ex: “Full Circle”
“They Keep Killing Suzie”
For story arcs, individual episodes are still cited in the above manner:
Ex: “Stones of Blood”
while the arcs themselves are treated like short story titles below.
Short story titles, titles of essays or articles, song titles, and chapter titles are within quote marks/inverted commas.
Ex: “The Master Vainglorious”
“The Tell-Tale Heart”
“The Key to Time”
“Burning Alexandria” (a chapter in the book Library: An Unquiet History)

3. Citations have not been standardized. In the past, the precedent has been that if you wish to include a works cited/bibliography you may do so; end notes/footnotes may be included in addition or on their own. See Steven Sautter’s “Outside the Conventions and Humdrum Routine of Everyday Life” in TTZ3, Lori Jansen’s “Thoughts on Regeneration” in TTZ2, and Ariann’s “Doctor Who: The Crusade” in TTZ1 for citation examples.

4. Because the editor is American, American spellings and grammar usage have been adopted. This was decided arbitrarily by the editor with the first issue and will continue for the sake of consistency. This means favorite instead of favourite, flavor instead of flavour, epitomize instead of epitomise, etc. Also instead of single inverted commas, “ ” are used in situations described in rule #2.

Should you prefer to write British-style, that’s fine—but the editor will change the final text—again for the sake of consistency. She is that diabolical.

5. It is preferred that your articles are formatted with paragraphs and indentations rather than blocks of text separated by hard return. Also where possible please justify your paragraphs.

6. The editor prefers the First Doctor as opposed to the first Doctor, and will print it that way regardless of how you submit it. Again, consistency. Likewise TARDIS instead of Tardis or T.A.R.D.I.S. Series/season used interchangeably, though series preferred. Also, series four=season 30 and can be used interchangeably, based on the author’s preference.

7. Your article will not be rejected if you do not follow these rules, but if you can take a little extra time to follow them, your editor will like you more.

FYI on fonts: the title font used in TTZ is Beatnik and the body text font is Bernadette. I don’t expect you to use these fonts in your submissions; please just use a legible font, Times New Roman, Garamond, etc.

We're looking to publish a collaborative festive article so we want YOUR favourite Doctor Who Christmas memories. Whether it's about the episodes aired at Christmas, any of the short stories from the Big Finish Christmas collections, or perhaps it's memories of going out in the snow with your Dalek toys or finding a target novelisation in your stocking we want to hear from you.

Fear not though dear readers as due to the increased demand (which is all very humbling), we've upgraded our account and you should once again be able to download TTZ8 and indeed, the 7 back issues as well!

If you enjoyed the zine, please do give us some feedback.

Several readers have contacted us and asked whether we'd consider doing paper copies of the zine. Well I guess that's down to YOU! Let us know if you would be willing to pay (production and postage costs only) for a paper version of TTZ and whether you'd pay for that full color or black and white. Ladies, Gentlemen, Trees and Multiforms it is with great pleasure that I announce Issue 8 of The Terrible Zodin is now live and available for free download.

Apologies that we're 2 days behind the promised date, I won't bore you with the technical details of the problems we have but must crave your indulgence that anything past Page 73 will be prone to the occasional typo. We will in time upload a corrected version being the perfectionists that we are but now you're all terribly excited to just get on and read!

This issue is dedicated to the period between production of TV series 1990 - 2003. Whilst many call it The Wilderness Years I hope this issue proves it was anything but. Indeed I hope you're sitting comfortably because TTZ8 is a whopping Target novelization sized 104 pages!

We bring you the concluding part of our interview with Paul Cornell and have a new exclusive interview with Lance Parkin. We sing the praises of the New Adventures, debate canon, dissect the theme tune and throw ourselves in to the Timelash!

Regular columnists Tony Gallichan and Steve Sautter are on board and we're pleased to announce a new member to join their roster, the mysterious Susie Who who'll be coming from the perspective of a casual viewer rather than a hardcore fan.

That splendid fellow Mister Chinn has noted that the next issue of DWM also features Cybermen on the cover. It just goes to show TTZ has it's finger on the Doctor Who pulse!

Actually it's entirely coincidental, we commissioned this cover way back in February but it's only materialising now when we decided to drop our Wilderness Years themed issue back in the schedule so that our summer issue could focus on Season Five.

As for the reason we've Cybermen on the cover of TTZ8... Well all will soon become clear.

TTZ8 - Coming Soon

Err, yes hello.

Sorry it's been so quiet around here.

For those who don't know me, I'm Jamie and as well as being a regular contributor to the zine and working on the editing team as the Sales & Marketing Manager (Ok so the Sales part is non existent because we come out for free), I'm stepping in as Guest Editor for Issue 8 of The Terrible Zodin. Partly this was so our usual Editor could focus on her PHD, partly so she could moonlight on her Ashes to Ashes fanzine 9:06 and also because I was really dying to have a go!

TTZ8 should be out on 30th September 2010. The last few articles are coming in and the whole thing is taking shape. The theme is The Wilderness Years 1990 - 2003 and in its pages you can expect to find lots of Cybermen, a discussion on Doctor Who canon, a fond look at the New Adventures range, the fate of Adric, praise for the Timelash, the first of our new column from Susie Who called "Peter Cushing is the Doctor!", an interview with novelist Lance Parkin and lots lots more. That's not to mention our usual fun and games with the paperdolls and Back2theWhoture!

I'll post up a sneak preview of the front cover in a few days time but in the meantime why not download some of the back issues and don't forget to check us out on Facebook and Twitter.

After a very long wait, TTZ7 is done and available for download.

This time around, we focus a bit on the most recent TV series, but there are lots of other treats, too. There is part two of the interview with Rob Shearman, part one of the interview with Paul Cornell, Raggedy Doctor & Amy paper dolls by Liz Wride, book reviews, and miscellaneous stuff. Of course we are really proud of the Panel of 13 which introduces new writers and LOTS of new artists.

I am really grateful to all the new artists, so let me just quickly give them a plug here: Jonny Eveson, Sharon Bautista, Simon Bromley, Alies Bruinsma, Draculasaurus, Michael Clarke, Michael Gilroy-Sinclair, Matt Harris, Daniela Illing, Lady Yate-xel, James Random, Hannah Rothman and Jessica Taylor (did I miss anyone?!).

Everyone involved was such a big help, so give yourselves a pat on the back.

You may notice that the footer/page numbering is different. The same bug with Word that I encountered last issue reared its ugly head, so the only way I could save the 51-page document was to paste it into a new file without the pre-existing footer/numbering system. It looks ugly but for the moment it will suffice. Sorry.

No doubt there are typos, widows, orphans, and mis-formatting; please alert me to these (in a polite fashion!). Better yet, do let us know what you think of this issue--good, bad, ugly, etc.

Well, series 5 is done (for Britain, at least), the deadline is passed, (most of) the submissions are in. The TTZ elves (that's me and the editing team!) are working hard for the next two weeks to weave together the many submissions, both art and literary, into the whole. It's very exciting and frankly I'm bowled over by some of the artwork and writing we've received. The Mythological Dimensions of Doctor Who

Kitsune Books have published a fascinating book on the intersections of myth and Who (and I'm not just saying that because I'm in it): it's called The Mythological Dimensions of Doctor Who and it's edited by Anthony S Burdge, Jessica Burke, and Kristine Larsen. It features essays by contributors on both sides of the Pond, including one by the editor of TTZ and a blurb on the back by Jamie Beckwith. (Not to mention a blurb by the editor's one-time professor Dr. Leslie Donovan.) It's also got a foreword by Simon Guerrier. Plug plug plug. Subjects include the Doctor as a Prometheus figure, the Doctor's adoption of wartime morality, Doctor Who and Tolkien, and much more.

The UK launch, hosted by the British Science Fiction Association, takes place this month in London. We will be reporting on it, no doubt, in TTZ7.

With TTZ6 done, we're (as ever) turning our attention to TTZ7!

By the time that issue is out in early July, the new series of Doctor Who with Matt Smith will be a memory. In the meantime, we are asking new-ish viewers of the show to contribute short reviews to be published in TTZ7. We need 13 reviewers and currently have ten people signed up. We've had technical difficulties. And that's putting it politely. This problem is officially unsolved, but I've figured out a way around it for the time being, long enough to put up this 99.9% correct edition of TTZ6. It's had three pairs of eyes reading over it in detail this time, and despite the woes of Word all articles and art seem to be accounted for. If we, the editing staff, notice anything huge and honking we will take the PDF down and attempt to fix it.

We've picked a deadline for the next issue. It is MARCH 1ST.
Our theme for the next issue is the Eighth Doctor. You, too, can participate: After the success of the 200 Words Recommendation in TTZ4 where contributors old and new nominated a story from the classic series for new fans to try, TTZ6 will also have a similar article, this time we're asking you to recommend your favourite story for someone coming new to the 8th Doctor should try. As he's the most multi-media of the Doctors there's a wide range to pick from, whether it's the novels, the short stories, the comic strip, the audio plays or even the remake of Shada. Of course maybe you're dying to recommend the TV movie!

The new deadline for TTZ4 submissions is 30 August. TTZ4 is already quite packed with great article and art ideas, so if you'd like to be considered for this issue please get your stuff in as soon as possible and definitely before the deadline.

Remember that our second version of Back2theWhoture will include "Genesis of the Daleks" and "Time-Flight" to watch them and give us your 200 words or less.

Style Sheet and Guidelines for TTZ

What’s a style sheet? Well, for complex publications (like Doctor Who Magazine, for example, or Scribendi) it’s a very long list of rules and guidelines to make the editors’ lives easier. It’s basically where all the style rules are kept so that the editors don’t go crazy trying to figure out whether their publication uses “that” or “which” and reminding people of common grammar mistakes like split infinitives and possessives (it’s = it is, its=belonging to something). For TTZ we’re going to keep it simple because my contributors aren’t getting paid so I don’t want to make their lives harder. Neither, however, do I want to spend valuable editing time changing everything that should be bolded from quotes. Here are just some useful (I hope) guidelines for writing an article in our house style.

1. Titles of books, plays, musical albums, magazines, and the titles of films and TV shows are bolded.
Ex: Vampire Science
The Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150
Doctor Who
The Sarah Jane Adventures
Moby-Dick
The correct way to cite this magazine is TTZ (+ issue number) or The Terrible Zodin.

2. Episodes of a TV show are bolded within quote marks/inverted commas.
Ex: “Full Circle”
“They Keep Killing Suzie”
For story arcs, individual episodes are still cited in the above manner:
Ex: “Stones of Blood”
while the arcs themselves are treated like short story titles below.
Short story titles, titles of essays or articles, song titles, and chapter titles are within quote marks/inverted commas.
Ex: “The Master Vainglorious”
“The Tell-Tale Heart”
“The Key to Time”
“Burning Alexandria” (a chapter in the book Library: An Unquiet History)

3. Citations have not been standardized. In the past, the precedent has been that if you wish to include a works cited/bibliography you may do so; end notes/footnotes may be included in addition or on their own. See Steven Sautter’s “Outside the Conventions and Humdrum Routine of Everyday Life” in TTZ3, Lori Jansen’s “Thoughts on Regeneration” in TTZ2, and Ariann’s “Doctor Who: The Crusade” in TTZ1 for citation examples.

4. Because the editor is American, American spellings and grammar usage have been adopted. This was decided arbitrarily by the editor with the first issue and will continue for the sake of consistency. This means favorite instead of favourite, flavor instead of flavour, epitomize instead of epitomise, etc. Also instead of single inverted commas, “ ” are used in situations described in rule #2.

Should you prefer to write British-style, that’s fine—but the editor will change the final text—again for the sake of consistency. She is that diabolical.

5. It is preferred that your articles are formatted with paragraphs and indentations rather than blocks of text separated by hard return. Also where possible please justify your paragraphs.

6. The editor prefers the First Doctor as opposed to the first Doctor, and will print it that was regardless of how you submit it. Again, consistency. Likewise TARDIS instead of Tardis or T.A.R.D.I.S. Series/season used interchangeably, though series preferred. Also, series four=season 30 and can be used interchangeably, based on the author’s preference.

7. Your article will not be rejected if you do not follow these rules, but if you can take a little extra time to follow them, your editor will like you more.

FYI on fonts: the title font used in TTZ is Beatnik and the body text font is Bernadette. I don’t expect you to use these fonts in your submissions; please just use a legible font, Times New Roman, Garamond, etc.
